Snowball Dokkie Drink Recipe Instructions
Snowball Dokkie Recipe Preparation & Instructions:
Put the ice chips and all of the liquid ingredients into the cocktail shaker first, then, using a melon baller, add several thin slices of the vanilla ice cream.
Shake vigorously for at least 5 seconds. The ice cream should be well blended but not completely.
Pour into a chilled cocktail glass and place a ball of ice cream in the center. (melon baller)
The finished drink should appear milky blue, will have a ball of ice cream and, if time right when shaking, white flecks (ice cream) and clear flecks (ice) floating in the drink. For presentation purposes, this drink should use clear Creme de Menthe instead of green in order to maintain the 'cold' appearance.
Snowball Dokkie Recipe Information
I had wanted to make a drink that was mint and vanilla, primarily vanilla (I love my vanilla). With the French Kiss and creme de menthe firmly placed in the ingredients list, I scoured the kitchen looking for anything else vanilla flavoured. Discovering vanilla beans, pudding, coffe, tea and more, I settled on the ice cream the instant I found it.
Originally, I had added less Alize because I had only wanted a slight blue tint but after tasting the result I added more. I found that 1/2 oz gives the drink a hint of something more exotic but more will make it stand out in the mix too much.
I had started this drink with gin and a few other liquors in mind as well, for a slightly bigger punch. I think the slimmed down version is much tastier and will suit a wider variety of palates.
