French Gimlet Drink Recipe Instructions

Very simple. Just put some large ice cubes in a cocktail glass, add the ingredients: (2 jiggers of Smirnoff 100 proof Vodka, 1 jigger of Cointreau and 1 jigger of Rose's Lime Juice). Stir. Lime wedge on rim optional. Drink.

It is imperative that the ingredients be carefully measured because the amount of liquid is small (no water, soda etc,) and casual measurements can easily throw off the balance between the drink's sweet and sour flavors.

Smirnoff 100 proof is the clearest, most neutral tasting of the vodkas and Smirnoff is by far the least expensive of the high-test bottles (vs. Finlandia, Absolut and Stoly).

French Gimlet Recipe Information

"I first had this drink 20 years ago at a now closed five-star French
restaurant in San Antonio, Chez Ardid. The 100 proof Vodka is essential to making it right. Most places don't carry 100 proof vodka, but will usually stock it if you area regular, especially if you ask for Smirnoff, because it is not outrageously priced (20 percent more than 80 proof)."
